The Easter Message... According to the Scriptures by Ann-Louise
At the moment the doors swoosh open, row upon row of baskets, synthetic grass, plastic eggs, cards with sweet messages, candy and toys beckon the eye (and, the manager hopes, your check book). This has been the scene at our local ‘super store’ for over a month and probably at yours, too. In a week or two, or even in a few days, the goodies will be gone, the cheap trinkets broken or forgotten, and life will go on. For many, life will go on with something else missing. They will enjoy the Easter fun, but miss the good news of the Easter message. Read more...
The Cost of Obedience by Ellen C.
God's only Son was obedient...even unto death. Jesus was undeserving of the humiliation and torture He received, but He chose to obey. What a picture of true submission and denial of self. Read more...
Try to be like God by Tina W.
If you've ever observed the nature of a child you'll have noticed that children have a tendency to imitate those whom they love and look up to even to the point of literally putting themselves in that person's very shoes. Read more...
Exposed by Tina W.
Have you ever been exposed before God? Now don't get me wrong, although Adam and Eve were literally naked before God, this is not the "exposure" I am speaking of. Adam and Eve were a great example... a literal example of what it means to be naked before God. Read more...
Offering Up Incense by Ann-Louise
In the tabernacle, God required incense to be burned upon the golden altar every morning and evening while the burnt offerings were being offered (See Ex. 30:1-7). Incense is symbolic of the prayers of God’s people and has a sweet aroma that is pleasing to God. Read more...
A Time to Build by Ann-Louise
No matter who you are, where you’ve come from, or where you’re going, at some point in life you have or will face difficult circumstances of some kind. It may be a tragedy or a loss, it may be an abusive relationship, financial hardship, betrayal or some other hardship. How should we respond in times of great difficulty? Read more...
I have to Boast by Ann-Louise
There are few things more annoying than listening to a person who continually blows their own horn. I'm sure you've had the 'pleasure' of running into a Mr. Look At Me or a Miss I'm So Wonderful. Bragging about ourselves and our own accomplishments is, to my mind, a form of blasphemy. Why do I say that? Read more...
Don't Feed Jealousy by Ellen C.
If our precious Lord and Savior gave each of us His unique gifts...why would we be jealous of anyone...especially another believer for that matter? After all...any good thing in US is from HIM...

Be Still and Listen by Ellen C.
I am going to try to cut this meat in God's word into tiny pieces that I can digest, so please bear with me.
Swift to hear--I wonder why that is written first? Even as babies...hearing comes before seeing. If we wait upon the Lord and HEAR more often... Read more...

Mine, Mine, Mine! by Ann-Louise
If you are a parent, I am sure you have cringed on more than one occasion as that cry shattered the peace in your home. Just as toddlers need to be taught how to be less possessive, we as adult believers need similar instruction at times.Read more...
BE ye... by Ann-Louise
Jesus said, “If ye love me, keep my commandments” (John 14:15). Many claim to know Him. Many claim to love Him. Many claim to bear His name. But few are willing to keep His commandments. The Father said, “Be ye holy, for I am holy” (1 Peter 1:16). Holiness is a high calling that often seems beyond our reach and beyond our comprehension.

The Proverbs 31 Woman - You are HER by Deborah Horack
I hope you ladies enjoy this. I wanted to write about laughter, but what could I find? I then thought of Proverbs 31. If any one of you ladies are familiar with this scripture you certainly know what I mean. Those of you who are not should take time to read it over, and when you do try not to be over-whelmed. You'll probably say "You're kidding me, right?" I don't think I've ever seen a woman read this and not laugh, as they read in amazement about this perfect woman who was written about so long ago. We have such a high standard to live up to. Read more...
ABIDE by Ann-Louise
Although winter is not my favorite season, I love those quiet, cold Wisconsin Saturday afternoons when I can curl up with a good book, a fluffy blanket, and a nice warming cappuccino. Ahhh...now that's a great way to unwind from the stresses of the week. Read more...
The Author and Perfecter by Ann-Louise
In a race, the runners keep their eyes on the goal – the finish line. They have rid themselves of all baggage, and take only what they need; nothing that can weigh them down. They don’t keep looking back where they’ve been; they just look straight ahead to the goal. They keep on, patiently putting one foot in front of the other. What do you look forward to at the end of this race? I look forward to falling at my Savior’s feet and washing them with my tears of gratitude and joy. Read more...
We tend to think of repentance simply in the context of salvation. While repentance is certainly required for salvation, it is also vital in the life of those who have been redeemed. As believers, those who have been saved from the curse and penalty of sin, we need to examine our own hearts and come before the throne of grace with repentant hearts. Our security in Christ is no excuse to return to or continue in sin. We must remember that the God we serve is ‘holy, holy, holy. We must walk before Him in righteousness. Read more...
Treasure in Clay Jars by Ann-Louise
Clay jars are fragile. They can be scratched, chipped and broken. They show the signs of wear and tear; they show their age. A clay jar, though, can be fixed. I have a little pot that most people would say is funny-looking. My youngest son made it for me in kindergarten and filled it with dandelions when he gave it to me. It got broken when we moved once and we fixed it with super glue. That little pot is something I treasure because of where it came from. It now is used as a pencil holder on my computer armoire and I get to look at it every day. Just like that pot, we - God's clay jars - sometimes get broken and damaged. Read more...
