Get to Know the Man of the Cross by Ellen C.

Picture
As I dance on the jagged floor of life,
I feel the strife.
Is there no kindness anymore?
What’s in store?

Has this world lost hope?
How does one cope?
War, famine, bigotry, lust and greed,
Take heed!

There is a way to overcome the madness.
To live in peace and calm the sadness.
Turn to the one who suffered all,
His Name is Jesus…hear His call.

He waits with open arms for you,
His love carries you through.
No matter what circumstances you face,
Sufficient is His grace!

Hated, scorned, mocked, rejected and beaten-so you might live
What more could He give?
Some will say it’s just a fairy tale,
As for me…His name I will hail!

Glory to the King who thought of me.
As He hung on that tree.
No greater love can one bestow,
That He rose again so you might know…

This life is temporary and will not matter,
Please focus on the latter.
Every knee will bow one day,
What will you say?

Will you want to renege on previous thought?
For the battle has been fought!
Will He recognize your face?
Can He extend His grace?

If you deny Him all the time,
How can He say, “You are mine?”
Such expectations are in vain,
For He needs to know your name.

Get to know the man of the cross,
Make Him your boss.
It’s a simple poem with great love,
Turn from yourself and look above.

It’s not a religion that makes you whole,
It’s a relationship that saves your soul.
